Most people are familiar with gelatin in its colorful, flavorful rendition as Jell-O. You might be surprised to learn the base ingredient in your favorite childhood dessert has a range of benefits for the body.
To benefit from gelatin, Prevention recommends adding 1 to 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder to your daily diet. You can mix the powder with cold water, leave overnight and eat with yogurt and honey for breakfast the next morning, as recommended by Daily Health Post. NOTE: As Prevention explains, gelatin is made from the collagenous joints, tendons and connective tissue of cows, pigs and fish. It is therefore not vegetarian, and any vegetarian substitutes will not have the same health benefits.
