A mansion in the Malibu area remains intact despite a major fire.
The US wildfire tragedy has now reached its fifth day. According to the latest figures from the New York Post, the fires in Los Angeles have killed at least 16 people, forced 200 people to evacuate, and destroyed 10,000 structures.
The fire was described as “wiping out” everything it passed through. However, in the coastal city of Malibu, a luxury mansion was described as having “miraculously survived”. Shared images show that the mansion is still intact despite the surrounding apartments being reduced to rubble.

The mansion has 3 floors, is worth about 9 million USD (228 billion VND) and is owned by businessman David Steiner. The apartment has 4 bedrooms, located on an area of nearly 400 square meters.
Recently, Mr. David shared the reason why his mansion still stood firm in the face of the recent disaster. Accordingly, this businessman proactively built his apartment solidly because he was worried that an earthquake might occur in this area. He revealed that his apartment was built extremely solidly with bricks and stones, a fireproof roof, and house piles driven about 15 meters deep into the ground.
“To be honest, I didn’t think this area would be affected by fires. I built the house solidly because I wanted it to stand firm when an earthquake occurred. The engineers did a good job. The surrounding wall structure and the roof are perfect,” Mr. David admitted.

He said his apartment was specially built to withstand earthquakes.
This is also the reason why the apartment survived the fire.
While working, David received news that the area where he lived had been affected by the fire, with many surrounding apartments burned down. At that time, David thought that his million-dollar house was gone too. However, a “miracle” happened.
“The real estate agent watched the news and saw that my neighbors’ apartments were destroyed. He said to me, ‘Maybe your apartment will be the same.’ It seemed like nothing could survive the fire. I thought my apartment was gone,” he recalled. “But miracles always happen.”
At the time of the fire, none of David’s family members were present. The businessman admitted that the safety of his loved ones was the most important thing, rather than the house.
“I wasn’t too happy. Assets can be earned but people can’t,” he admitted. “I got a lot of messages asking, people saying, ‘We’re praying for you. It’s terrible.’ I say people don’t have to do that, what I lost was just my property. Many people are in a much worse situation than me,” he added.
