How to get rid of rats and cockroaches with rice: An effective and natural home remedy

Getting rid of rats and cockroaches naturally is possible if you use common ingredients that you probably already have at home.

One of the most effective and inexpensive home remedies is rice, which, when combined with other ingredients, becomes a powerful ally against these pests.

This method is not just safe for the home but environmentally friendly, as it avoids the use of toxic chemicals.

Raw rice acts as a lethal bait when mixed with plaster (also known as lime or white cement).

To prepare it, simply mix equal parts ground dry rice and powdered plaster.

Once ready, place it in small containers or bottle caps in areas where rats and cockroaches frequently frequent, such as corners, behind furniture, or near drains.

It is also important to place a container of water near the bait, as when the rodent or insect ingests the mixture and then drinks water, the plaster hardens inside the stomach, effectively killing them.

Rice is attractive to these animals because it has a neutral smell and taste, making it a tempting bait. Grinding it also makes it easier for small cockroaches and young rats to ingest.

This remedy requires patience, as results can take between 2 and 5 days to become noticeable, depending on the level of infestation.

It is recommended to keep the house clean, seal cracks, and store food in airtight containers to complement the remedy’s effect.

Repeating the process weekly for a month will help completely eradicate the problem.

This method is highly effective, inexpensive, and natural, posing no danger to people or pets if applied with caution.

Rice, combined with plaster, thus becomes a reliable homemade solution to keep these unwanted pests at bay.
