At the same time, critics have directed their frustration toward Trump and his family, pointing out that while they appear to support the war, none of them—including the former president—have served in the armed forces.
Now attention has shifted more directly to Barron. Having recently turned 20, he is now of an age where military service is possible. As soon as the conflict began, social media users were already urging him to enlist, and that pressure has only grown since.

Now that Barron Trump has turned 20, the calls for him to join the military are growing louder. On U.S. television network MS NOW, anchor Lawrence O’Donnell is the latest one in the line to now share his thoughts on Barron.
O’Donnell now blasts Barron as being “spoiled” as he hasn’t enlisted yet, accusing Barron of being a draft dodger.
“After Barron Trump celebrated his 20th birthday in lavish style last week – as a Trump, he could have marched straight down to a recruiting station and joined the army to fight in his father’s war,” the anchor said Wednesday on his The Last Word show, per NY Post.
O’Donnell continued by explaining that President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s four children all served in WWII, while Queen Elizabeth also served in uniform while her father was still king.
“Does Barron Trump know how to drive? Could he drive an ambulance in the Army, or is he not quite as tough as the 18-year-old Princess Elizbathez was when she joined the war effort?” O’Donnell continued. “Imagine. Imagine being more spoiled than an English princess on her way to becoming queen of England. That is what it means to be a Trump – more spoiled than the British royal family.”
Medical reason Barron Trump hasn’t enlisted for U.S Army
Although the Trump family has not typically been associated with military service— with Donald Trump reportedly avoiding enlistment through a medical deferment citing bone spurs—there may be a different reason why Barron Trump has not joined the armed forces.
Under draft rules, men who turn 20 during the lottery year are among the first eligible, meaning Barron could technically be considered. However, there are factors that might exempt him from service, and in this case, they may be physical rather than procedural.
Standing at around 6’7″, Barron’s height could limit his eligibility for certain military roles. Many positions—especially those involving confined environments like tanks, armored vehicles, or aircraft—have strict physical requirements. Reports suggest that the United States Army enforces height limits for some roles, typically capping at around 6’8″, which could make placement difficult or even disqualify him from specific duties.
