She glanced at me, her voice cold.

For a second, the world felt smaller.<\/h2>\n

I\u2019d heard unkind words before \u2014 in passing, online, in crowded places \u2014 but never this close, with no way to walk away.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have health issues,\u201d I said steadily. \u201cI don\u2019t owe you an explanation.\u201d<\/p>\n

I turned toward the window, hoping she\u2019d stop. But her voice grew louder. People began to look over.<\/p>\n

My chest tightened. Frustration rose in my throat. And then \u2014 I did something I will never regret.<\/p>\n

I stood, pressed the call button, and waited. A flight attendant appeared almost instantly \u2014 tall, professional, in uniform.

\u201cYes,\u201d I said, keeping my voice even. \u201cI\u2019d like to report verbal harassment. This passenger is demanding my seat.\u201d I showed my tickets.<\/p>\n

At first, the attendant looked surprised, then turned to the young woman<\/strong><\/h2>\n


\u201cMay I see your ticket, please?\u201d<\/p>\n

It turned out her assigned seat wasn\u2019t even next to mine. She simply didn\u2019t want to sit near me.<\/p>\n

The attendant firmly told her to return to her seat. She rolled her eyes, argued, and complained loudly. Then, something unexpected happened.<\/p>\n

Minutes later, the head flight attendant came over.
\u201cMa\u2019am, the captain has decided you\u2019ll need to leave the plane due to your behavior and not following crew instructions. Please gather your belongings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her face drained of color. <\/strong><\/h2>\n

She argued, threatened to complain \u2014 but ten minutes later, she was escorted off.<\/p>\n

The same attendant came back to me and said quietly,
