At the checkpoint, the guard looked up. His gaze slid over her sweatshirt, her faded jeans, her worn sneakers\u2026 and settled on the backpack.<\/p>\n

“Wait. What do you have there?” he demanded.<\/p>\n

When she unzipped the laptop and the silver case gleamed under the lights, the guard’s face tensed.<\/p>\n

“ArcTech Pro?” he drawled. “Where from?”<\/strong><\/h1>\n

“I… won. At the competition,” she whispered.<\/p>\n

But he wasn’t listening anymore.<\/p>\n

“A girl like you?” he snorted contemptuously, pulling out his laptop without her permission. “This looks stolen. Sit down. I’m calling the police.”<\/p>\n

The words hit her like a slap in the face. The students’ whispers, the raised camera phones\u2014everything mingled into a sticky ball of humiliation.<\/p>\n

She typed the message with trembling fingers and sent just two lines:<\/p>\n

“Dad… please come. Urgent.”<\/p>\n

I remember that moment almost frame by frame\u2014the girl was sitting in a chair, hunched over, as if trying to become invisible.<\/p>\n

The security guard was already talking on the radio, casting suspicious glances at her, as if he were looking not at a teenager but at a hardened criminal.<\/p>\n

And suddenly the front doors swung open.<\/p>\n

A tall man entered. He didn’t say a word, but the air seemed to change density. Conversations died down. Even the security guard seemed frozen.<\/p>\n

The man scanned the hall with the confident, practiced gaze of a leader. And when his eyes found the girl\u2014broken, frightened, with wet eyelashes\u2014something coldly gleamed in them.<\/p>\n
