The interest rates were mounting, and debt collectors were calling almost every day. They were about to put the house up for auction. My mother cried at night, and my father was gloomy and silent.<\/span><\/p>\n

And that’s when he appeared in their lives\u2014a wealthy seventy-year-old widower, a well-known figure in town with money and connections. He often came to them under the guise of helping, bringing food, saying he respected their family. And then one day, he offered a solution.<\/span><\/p>\n

An hour later, the “right” people were already at the house\u2014doctors he trusted. The paperwork was completed quickly. The conclusion read: “Acute heart failure.” The parents received a brief call:<\/span><\/p>\n
