Fresh coffee in the air. Floors so polished they reflected the chandeliers. An automatic piano played a melody no one truly listened to.<\/p>\n

Near the staircase, a Christmas tree shimmered with elegant, discreet lights.<\/p>\n

Everything whispered taste.<\/p>\n

Everything whispered order.<\/p>\n

And in the middle of it all, a boy in worn sneakers knelt on the marble floor, collecting torn scraps of paper like they were pieces of his dignity.<\/p>\n

His hands shook as he matched the edges together.<\/p>\n

As if paper could heal itself.<\/p>\n

ANOTHER VERSION OF HUMILIATION<\/h2>\n

Across the service hall, another young figure stood frozen.<\/p>\n

\u00c9milie Laurent.<\/p>\n

Her voucher\u2014stamped by the internal administration, proof she had been authorized to work that day\u2014had just met the same fate.<\/p>\n

Unshaven, composed.<\/p>\n

Alexandre Rochefort.<\/p>\n

He had appeared ordinary\u2014just another guest waiting.<\/p>\n

But his thumb had stopped scrolling the moment the first tear split the paper.<\/p>\n

He had not looked away since.<\/p>\n

As Lucas and \u00c9milie gathered their torn documents, something in the room shifted.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHIS IS NOT A CHARITY\u201d<\/h2>\n

\u00c9milie rose, clutching the pieces in her palm.<\/p>\n
