For months she had complained about his hair.<\/p>\n

Brenda has always believed strongly in how boys should look. Every time she saw Leo, she found a way to comment.<\/p>\n

Then he stood up.<\/p>\n

The room fell silent.<\/p>\n

Mark lifted his briefcase onto the table and opened it.<\/p>\n

He removed a document and slid it toward Brenda.<\/p>\n

The moment she saw it, the color drained from her face.<\/p>\n

\u201cMark,\u201d she whispered. \u201cPlease tell me that\u2019s not what I think it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s exactly what you think it is,\u201d Mark said.<\/p>\n

It was a formal cease-and-desist letter from an attorney.<\/p>\n

The first clip showed Lily sitting in a hospital chair wearing the yellow cardigan she had refused to take off during the early weeks of treatment.<\/p>\n

Eight months earlier Lily had been diagnosed with leukemia.<\/p>\n

The chemotherapy caused her hair to fall out in clumps.<\/p>\n

The next clip showed Lily quietly crying on her bed while holding her bald doll.<\/p>\n

Then came the final clip.<\/p>\n

Leo sat beside his sister on the hospital bed holding the doll.<\/p>\n
