I gripped a chair, thinking of all the nights I lay awake terrified I was losing Logan. My son had been out there, keeping a neighbor alive. Officer Benny told me he\u2019d called me because he remembered me venting in the grocery store about my worries. \u201cYou deserved to hear this part too,” he said. “He\u2019s becoming the kind of young man you can rely on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Andrew woke up and wrapped his arms around Logan\u2019s leg. I stepped forward and hugged Logan. He went stiff at first, the way teenagers do, then he hugged me back. \u201cIt\u2019s okay, Mom.\u201d<\/p>\n
