It showed a young woman lying in an emergency room bed, her face bandaged, a newborn in her arms, and next to her, a nurse holding another premature baby inside a portable incubator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4338\" data-end=\"4370\"><span dir=\"auto\">Laura took a step towards the photo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4372\" data-end=\"4418\"><span dir=\"auto\">The old woman saw her looking and smiled sadly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4420\" data-end=\"4481\"><span dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Two lives were born that day,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Or they both almost died.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4483\" data-end=\"4513\"><span dir=\"auto\">Laura held the photo up to the light.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4515\" data-end=\"4548\"><span dir=\"auto\">The woman in the bed was his mother.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4550\" data-end=\"4564\"><span dir=\"auto\">There was no doubt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4566\" data-end=\"4664\"><span dir=\"auto\">Much younger, of course, but it was her.
