It was Tuesday, October 14, 2024. High above Paseo de la Reforma, on the forty-second floor of Obsidian Tower, the VIP restaurant carried the scent of wealth\u2014orchids, polished wood, and quiet power. To Mia, though, it mostly smelled like exhaustion. She had been working nonstop for nine hours, her cheap shoes digging painfully into her feet, the ache climbing up her legs.<\/p>\n
