“I took your hits and let you steal my pay, but I won’t let you hurt these children.”<\/p>\n
Lupita hugged her father, sobbing. “Dad, she used to lo:ck us in the dark closet when you were gone.<\/p>\n
She told us you\u2019d d:ie of sadness if we cried. Carmen was the only one who fed us and let us out.”<\/p>\n
