The music stopped on its own. Just a minute ago, guests had been laughing, chatting, clinking glasses. Now silence hung in the room. I stood by the table, gripping the stem of my glass so tightly my fingers turned white.<\/p>\n

We hadn\u2019t seen each other for three years. Since the day he said he had \u201coutgrown our relationship\u201d and went off to find inspiration. Apparently, he found it.<\/p>\n
