Rice water has long been praised for its numerous benefits for the skin, from acting as a natural toner to balancing sebum production. However, what many don’t realize is that rice water can also help shrink enlarged pores by acting as an astringent. If you’re struggling with open pores and looking for a natural solution, you’re in the right place.
In today’s post, I’ll guide you through a 3-step rice water treatment that will help tighten and minimize your pores, leaving your skin smoother and clearer. But before you begin, make sure to cleanse your face with a gentle face wash to remove dirt and impurities.
Step #1: Toning with Rice Water
Ingredients:
- Overnight soaked rice water
- 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel
- 1 tablespoon Rose Water
Instructions:
- In a clean bottle, pour half a cup of overnight soaked rice water.
- Add 1 tablespoon of rose water and 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel to the rice water.
- Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Soak a clean cotton pad with this toner and gently dab it on your face.
- Allow the toner to dry naturally on your skin. This step will help cleanse the pores, balance oil production, and prepare your skin for the next treatment.
Tip: This toner can be used daily to maintain healthy, balanced skin.
Step #2: Facial Icing with Rice Starch Water
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of starch water (the water left after cooking rice)
- 1 tablespoon Rose Water
- Oil from 1 Vitamin E capsule
Instructions:
- Collect the starch water left after cooking rice (it’s packed with nutrients for your skin).
- Add 1 tablespoon of rose water and the oil from 1 Vitamin E capsule to the starch water.
- Mix the ingredients well and transfer the mixture into an ice tray.
- Freeze the mixture to make rice water ice cubes.
- Once frozen, take 1 ice cube from the tray and wrap it in a thin cotton cloth.
- Gently massage the cloth-wrapped ice cube on your face for about 5 minutes, focusing on areas with enlarged pores.
Tip: You can repeat this step daily to help tighten and refresh your skin.
Step #3: Rice Water Face Pack (2 Times a Week)
Ingredients:
- Water from soaked raw rice (soak rice for 1 hour)
- 1 teaspoon Oats Powder
- 1 teaspoon Almond Flour
Instructions:
- After soaking the raw rice for about an hour, take 1 tablespoon of the soaked rice water and place it in a clean bowl.
- Add 1 teaspoon of oats powder and 1 teaspoon of almond flour to the rice water.
- Mix everything well until you form a smooth paste.
- Apply a thin layer of the pack all over your face, focusing on areas with enlarged pores.
- Allow the pack to dry for 15 minutes, then rinse your face with cold water to close the pores.
Tip: Use this pack 2 times a week for best results. It will exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells, and tighten the pores.
