Donald Trump has sparked another social media storm after he posted a bizarre image on Truth Social, appearing to show a giant luxury hotel built on the Moon, with ‘Trump’ emblazoned across the outside.

The post, which came without any caption or context, quickly drew attention, especially as it appeared to hint at his latest grand ambition: taking the Trump brand beyond Earth itself.

Although the image surfaced just days after the four-man Artemis II crew returned from their historic journey, social media was quick to question Trump’s motives, centring around his designs to colonize the Moon.

Trump’s plans to further his name

Trump has long been vocal about wanting to extend his brand, touting that his name could be attached to major landmarks, previously eyeing everything from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to Pennsylvania Station. Now, the idea of a “Trump hotel on the moon” appears to be his boldest concept yet.

Within minutes of the attention-grabbing post, the president shared two more eyebrow-raising images. One showed him dressed in a liturgical capacity, as Jesus, placing a glowing hand on a hospital patient, seemingly healing them. The imagery appeared to echo sentiments among parts of his support base, where some have likened him to a religious figure.

Another post pointed fun at political rivals, including Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Chuck Schumer. The message implied Trump had achieved more in his political career than all three combined, in spite of ongoing criticism of his approval ratings and standing within his own party.

This isn’t the first time Trump has sought to dedicate a building to himself

The online frenzy comes just a week after fresh attention on another ambitious and controversial idea: the so-called “Arc de Trump.” During a public appearance in Washington, a camera zoomed in on a document Trump was holding, seemingly revealing early designs for the proposed monument near the White House.

The structure, reportedly planned for Memorial Circle and positioned opposite the Lincoln Memorial, is intended to commemorate the United States’ 250th anniversary. The concept had previously been unveiled at a White House dinner last October.

In the footage, even a nearby Secret Service agent dressed as the Easter Bunny appeared to turn awkwardly toward the camera as the plans came into view.

Though it remains unclear how seriously any of these ideas are being pursued, Trump’s latest posts, from a Moon hotel to monumental tributes, have once again brought him and his administration into disrepute.
